Meow.

I have this new ... er. interest in cats. At an ornament exchange in december I got a funny cat ornament and ever since then I have warmed up to the idea of cats. I have always strongly disliked cats until most recently. I notice cats more often and where as before I would want to throw them outside now I just want to pick them up and play with them. Its weird really, I never thought I would be a cat person. Some friends of mine got a kitten and she is so sweet, she loves me and I love her. I want a kitty now but I cant have one where I live :( so I guess its just cat ornaments and visits to go see joy for now.

I want about a million other things, these are just a few favorites.

Thats not all.. I want to go to this dressed as a cat and enter the competition.

Beautiful Boy.

I judge books by their covers. I dont mean I judge people by the way the look. I mean I judge books by their covers. Yesterday I went to the library, I have not been to the library in a while but I want to start reading more and reading better so I went. I went shortly before the were closing and I was planning on browsing through a bunch of books but when they started turning the lights off I changed my mind I just grabbed a few books that caught my eye, books with bright colors, a unique image or a confusing title. I hope out of the eleven books I found one will strike my fancy. I think I will start with Beautiful Boy By David Sheff. Starbucks said it was good. So it must be good.

Te Amo

Today I consider myself a lucky gal. This past week I was able to experience a few of my favorite things and discover some new favorites too. I had never been to Vodoo Doughnuts, its a neat little doughnut shop downtown Portland. After having my first Vodoo experience I walked the streets of portland anxious for the day I will be walking them as a resident not a visitor. I visited a mall I had never been too. At this mall I went on a wild goose chase for a special piece a jewelry. A necklace to remind me of a friendship I have that will last forever..... even if no body else speaks our language. ;) I had my finger poked so I could see what blood type I am, turns out im B+, A good life motto I think. I ruined a pair of shoes and realized its about time this washingtonian got some rain boots. I caught up with and old friend and made plans for the future. I busted out all my musical skills and taught myself a few songs on the harmonica sleepy songs, lovey dovey songs, funny songs, kiddo songs and and songs that just put a smile on my face. I played some games with some silly ladies and laughed until I cried. I can look back on my week and know that I put a smile on someones face and a smile was put on mine, I laughed about something stupid and I made some special memory's and for that I am thankful.

Sold out.

I packed my bags and I have left town for a few days. It feels great. Although my regular days are not planned out to a "t" (what does that even mean?) these days, I would like to consider myself on "Vacation". Vacation from boredom, vacation from sadness, vacation from not feeling good enough and vacation from myself. So far I am having a wonderful time on my "Vacation". Im seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones too. Yesterday I was feeling like I was visiting a life that I should be living. Today I feel different. I sat in at a chapel service that was in memory of MLK. The soulful music and words were just what I needed to hear. As a believer I have known this for many moons, but for some reason today It spoke to me more than ever before The preacher said that God has a plan for my life and God will use me how HE wants and HE will put me where I need to be when I need to be there. So with that said I know I am where I am not to feel bad about myself but to know that God does have a plan for my life and I may think that I am missing out because I am not doing what is "normal" But really I have never been normal and God doesn't want me to me normal he wants me to be. The "Next Chapter" of my life may not be starting the same as everyone else but thats not to say It wont start. So today I am happy to be me. And a song helped me remember that I am living my life for Jesus...nobody else... Jesus.

The song I called Sold Out by Hezekiak Walker. I cant help but smile when I hear and it makes me want to bust a move too so thats nice :)

I didn't choose this particular video for its images, just the words. Enjoy!

insomnia and ingrid.

I have my new found insomnia to thank for this find. I tried posting it a few nights ago but it didnt work...thanks for the help from my sister I can now work a computer! Sometimes when I cant sleep I try to find new things on the web... like music, clothes, pictures, videos, etc. This particular night of no sleep I was searching youtube for videos of Ingrid Michaelson for she is my favorite singer songwriter and I love her very much. I found vidoes of her covering "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air" and "No Scrubs" but the screaming croud seemed extra ear piercing this time..and then I found this and it is just lovely. She is not on a stage she is in her home. She is singing Bon Iver's "Skinny Love". I hope im not the only one who loves a good cover.

real and fake.

I seem to have an obsession with tattoos these days. Real and Fake. Two weeks ago my sister Emily and I went together to get our first tattoos! Here is a picture of my mustache before I shaved it off! (word of advice do some research before getting one of these bad boys ..the ink isnt staying in the skin ...we will need to go in for a touch up some day soon)

I just have so much fun with these girls, this is the second time I let them draw "tattoos" on my arms ...when your'e a 6 year old girl (give or take a few years ) It is a real treat to be able to draw some "tattoos" on a friends arms :) Here I am with the beautiful artwork of my friends Sydney and Noel, My other gal pals Ashley and Annabell helped out too but they didnt make the picture.

The left side is "A snowman with eyes and a mohawk" and the right arm is "Cherries"
